Last chance...

So tomorrow morning we're headed to the beach for our last chance to relax in summer '08.  We are in awe at how fast the summer went by - and by really how we didn't get a normal summer.  The weather was ALL OVER the board - and with a newborn in our lives - the hot was extra HOT and the baby was NOT having it! So, tomorrow we introduce Elise to her grandparents beach house (lucky girl) and let Owen run in the sand and surf - and dare we say, sun? Let's cross our fingers that we get some clear skies! 

Just so everyone is aware, on September 8th Owen starts preschool at his new school!!! He is so excited - not to mention he's turning 4 in almost a month now! He is telling everyone, mainly he's telling them that he's going to be 6 like Michael...after he's 4 and 5, of course! 

Check in to the family web site over the weekend as we're hoping to have pics posted randomly.  I will sit one of these afternoons to download more pics here...you know, in my spare time!

Happy Labor Day weekend! 

And we have ROLL OVER

No, not minutes....Elise is such a big girl, and very concerned about her family - so she decided to roll over this morning from her tummy to back just as Daddy was walking in the room! (Owen and I were there already cheering her on!) She's been working on going from back to front for a couple of weeks now - so we for sure thought that would be the first one....we've only sort of been encouraging it - as we now know as parents that the "roll overs" mean these little ones become mobile - and pretty much everything around the house that's under 12 inches now becomes danger! So, we're excited to say the least...our little sweet pea is getting so big!

And it's been a rough week! We're back from the beach trip - which was so fun - and we're exhausted...and sick! Poor little Elise has been under the weather since the drive home from the beach - and we're all very tired! Nonetheless, we had tons of fun and cannot wait to post pictures of our little cuties! We're hoping everyone is feeling well tomorrow  - we can only hope!

Brian should be downloading pics into the computer soon, so we'll be posting them in no time. We will be sure to share -   

Take a "Bite" out of town

Ah - what a fun day! We headed down to the waterfront and took in our first bite with the fam and Grandma and Grandpa! Too much fun! Owen was quite the hit as he proceeded to dance up a storm to anything and everything...not to mention air guitar with the "I wanna rock" hand sign! Apparently people all around were taking in the joy that is our 3 year old! He enjoyed ice cream, pizza, soda pop and a root beer float! Um - can you say sugar overload....thanks Mom and Dad! I think his MOST favorite part of the day was getting his new BATMAN sunglasses! They are awesome (see pic) mirrored style glasses with a bat emblem that covers the lenses! Pretty spooky in a good way - he was so excited when Grandma Val picked them out - the only pair there!  

Elise was adorable and a terrific sport! Her favorite thing currently is for me to laugh like Santa and say - "Merry Christmas Elise"! (again see pic) She just laughs and laughs! It will feel less nutjob to me when it is actually Christmas and people that can't see I'm saying that to a 3 month old think I should be shipped to a looney bin! (although, maybe I should?) The things we'll all do to make a baby laugh, not to mention when that baby is yours! 

Anyway - it was a great weekend altogether.  Can't wait for this week - we're all headed out the the beach with friends to relax, unwind and let it all hang out in the sand! Should be some fun stories ahead! 

Such a big girl

Thought I'd mention that last night, little Miss Elise hit a milestone important to all parents - she slept in her crib/own room all night! No, I don't mean she slept all night long - I cross my fingers that will come soon, but she did sleep in her crib all sprawled out like a little sweetie until 6 am!!! It's such a pretty room, why wouldn't she want to be in there! Exciting stuff, I know! 

Welcome Aboard!

So - it begins today! I thought, "How fun to have a blog...." I mean, if Owen can ask about all the other blogs I love to frequent, why NOT have one for our family! This way - I can stop feeling so guilty about not recording the magnificent things my kiddos do in baby books I don't have - and I can list it all out here! Yay for the internet!

So, I guess what everyone will eventually see here is pics of the kids, general family news and fun things when we feel the inspiration to post - I am excited!!!
